| Dear
Exhibitors:
The origins
of Oktoberfest date back to an 1810 wedding celebration outside of Munich.
The celebration continues across the America today with people dressed
in period costumes dancing to a live Oompah band and drinking large steins
of beer.
Another German
export is the aluminum extrusion exhibit system. These systems, comprised
of vertical poles and horizontal beams, can be used to create a wide variety
of custom exhibits. You have probably seen them in their simplest design
as rental units from a show's general contractor. But they are used throughout
the world to build multi-story, complex custom exhibits.
As these systems
are very practical for rental programs, you will see them utilized more
as the US' custom rental market expands. Also, because of their world-wide
use, an exhibit we design here can be built in Hong Kong, Munich or Taipei.
Additionally each of the aluminum extrusion systems has a store fixture
building component compliment.
So enjoy Oktoberfest
and keep an eye out for that other German export, the aluminum extrusion
system. |
Sincerely,
 |

| Have you ever walked by a booth that was playing your favorite song,
and before you even knew what your feet were doing, you were stopped and
reading some exhibitor's graphics? You don't need an automated doggie dish
refiller. You don't even have a dog! But something about that booth made
you offer up two whole minutes of your valuable time.
You may not have noticed what attracted you at the time, but you remember
walking away thinking that you really need to get that CD back from your
girlfriend.
There are many ways to update your exhibit to make it more inviting,
but one of the easiest, most affordable methods is also the most overlooked.
Music is a wonderful way to appeal to more show attendees. The best exhibit
experiences are the ones that involve as many senses as possible, making
the experience fully interactive. This allows for more opportunities to
be remembered by your prospects. |
|
There's a few things you'll need to remember
when using this very valuable tool:
1. Make sure the music is appropriate to your corporate image.
2. Upbeat music is the best. You don't want to remind your prospect
about the ex-girlfriend who left him for her boss.
3. Music will keep your staff energized. Be careful not to play the
same three songs over and over though, that's just gonna make them mad.
4. Finally, be conscientious with your audio. The goal is not to blast
out your neighbors at the show. You should just be loud enough for passers
by to hear the music distinctly.
5. Oh yeah, and whatever you do, under no circumstances whatsoever should
you ever play Barry Manilow in your exhibit. |

With today's economic climate, it is absolutely
crucial that you get every penny's worth from your investments. This seems
to be especially true for marketing expenditures. This doesn't necessarily
mean using the same exhibit for 12 years though. You can make your investments
last simply by upgrading/updating the graphics. Here are a couple examples:
|
|
| Earth Tech is currently in the process of revamping their
entire marketing image, but rather than purchasing a complete new trade
show inventory, they've smartly chosen to update their graphics and use
their existing hardware to reflect the company's new image. |
|
|
| When Rural Electric Utilities Underwriting Managers was
purchased by Swett & Crawford a few months ago, they made the very
wise and economic choice to simply update their graphics to reflect said
change. This allows existing clients to recognize REU's old brand while
introducing the new S&C brand. |
