Exhibitors:
When you plan your next "exhibit
makeover", there are many elements to consider. But one of, if not the
most important element, is your message. What do you want the attendees
to learn and remember about your company? Two steps in creating a successful
message involve your USP and its presentation.
First, what is your USP(Unique
Selling Proposition)? If a major competitor managed to obtain an adjacent
booth space, would you consider this a worst-case scenario? It might be
if you do not know what makes your company unique relative to the rest
of the industry and /or to that competitor. However if you have your USP
message proudly on display in your exhibit, you would turn a "worst-case"
into a "best-case".
Second, display your USP concisely.
You have about 3.5 seconds per 10' linear space to grab the attendees'
attention. When they leave your exhibit, they need to know who you are
and what you can do for them!
As a test, show your USP and
its presentation to people not intimately involved in that product or |
| service. If they cannot determine
your message, then you have a communications problem. You have a "failure
to communicate".
In many cases, you do not
have to wait for a major exhibit "makeover" to improve your message. Simply
by better determining your USP and changing exhibit graphics, you can make
your message "loud and clear".
