| Dear
Exhibitors:
What… me worry? This may have
worked for Mad Magazine's Alfred E, Newman, but it does not work for trade
show managers. With all the individual, independent actions taken by humans
in the pre-show and during of an event, it is a miracle that more does
not go wrong. To help our full-service clients relax as much as possible,
we have created a "Showbook" which contains the information needed to manage
on the show floor. You may want to insure you have this information too.
The Showbook:
1. Summary and copy of all
show services ordered. It is easier to negotiate pre-show rates and changes
at the service desk when you can produce a copy of your orders.
2. Copy of show floor plan
and exhibit floor plan with electrical and graphics positions.
3. Copy of "Ship to" bill
of lading and "Return" bill of lading and labels
4. Instructions for handling
freight(especially important if a stand-in will close the show)
5. Emergency numbers for
your exhibit house, I&D, shipper, graphics house
6. CD with files to produce
sales sheets or other handouts which can be printed locally |
The Showbook travels as carry-on
in your briefcase. That way, even if your luggage is lost, you can still
start your install. And still have time to shop for new clothes. So relax!
Sincerely,

Seize the
Travel Opportunities!
While it's
true that not everyone enjoys leaving their domain in search of fun and
adventure, sometimes a little travel is required. Why not make the best
of it? Your hotel concierge can tell you exactly how to get there, but
here's a few of our favorites.
|
 |
Los
Angeles: Why hang out in the hotel room all morning when you can take
a quick cab ride down to Venice Beach for some amusing, optical entertainment?
Don't forget your camera! If sun, sand, and weirdoes isn't your thing,
the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) or the Los Angeles County Museum
of Art (LACMA) might just do the trick.
San Francisco: If you
haven't paid $15 for a whole king crab just brought in from the boat and
steamed while you wait, well you just haven't lived--Fisherman's Wharf
is a must for all first time Frisco-ers. The around town trolleys are a
great way to see the city for under $5 as well.
Las Vegas: Everyone
knows how much there is to do in Vegas, but make sure you don't miss out
on the Elvis-O-Rama museum! |

New Orleans: I can't
imagine that there's anyone left on the planet that has been to New Orleans
without going to Bourbon Street. If this is you, what are you waiting for???
It's not beautiful, it's quite loud, and it even smells pretty bad, but
one thing is for sure, it's an experience that you don't want to miss.
If you're in a quiet mood though, try the trolley through the garden district.
That one's sure to delight.
Chicago: Some of the
best restaurants in the world, but if you're looking for some less expensive
entertainment, try the Maxwell St. Market, or one of the many available
neighborhood tours.
Ft. Lauderdale: I know
what your thinking, how can anyone not be entertained in Ft. Lauderdale?
Well, if you are of the fairest of complexions, that beach thing is probably
closer to the last thing on your list rather than the first. If this is
the case, check out Billie's Swamp Safari. Fourteen dollars for an airboat
ride sounds pretty darn entertaining to me. |
