Dear Exhibitors:
If you want to shakeup your booth attendance and future sales prospects,
take a look at your pre-show promotion program. Pre-show promotions
can raise your show attendance by 34%. However they can also improve
both your company goodwill and the potential for attendees to buy.
But to gain these advantages, you may need to modify your promotions
program.
A pre-show card with an invitation will increase your attendance.
If you add a gift with this promotion and tie it to a gift at the
booth, you can achieve a 40% improvement in the "recommend
to buy" category. Also you can gain 100% in perceived company
goodwill.
With careful consideration and planning, your pre-show promotion
program can add to your exhibit ROI.

Keeping
Up Morale During Trying Times
|
|
I'm not sure who the first person to ever say "what
goes up must come down" was, but truer words were never
spoken. We can universally agree on this rule as we've seen
it demonstrated time and again. The economy, the airplane,
and the apple--none are exempt from this natural law. The
trick, however, is to figure out a way to keep morale up
through all the fluctuations that occur in a company's life
cycle. There will be great quarters, but there will also
be greatly disappointing quarters.
So how do you keep this roller coaster ride from affecting
the moral of your staff, the ones who are most directly
affected by these changing tides? Here are a few tips gathered
from behavioral professionals, counselors, managers, and
mailroom clerks alike.
1. Be Honest. Trust your employees enough to tell
them the truth about what is going on in the organization.
If times are good, let them know. If times are bad, be equally
honest.
2. Communicate. How can your employees know what
you want done unless you tell them? Conversely, keeping
the lines of communication open
|
|
in your organization will also encourage your employees to come
to you when there may be a problem on the horizon (e.g. they can't
meet a deadline, they need extra help, etc.)
3. Don't Pass Blame. Once in a while you will have an
employee who just doesn't make the cut, but overall, this is generally
not the case. It is not your staff's fault that the economy is
down or that your competitor just came out with the latest and
greatest product in your field. Put your energy into creating
solutions not harboring unhealthy emotions.
4. Keep Busy. Even if production is down, there's always
more to do. Maybe now is the time to reorganize the warehouse
to make it run more efficiently or clean out the files and store
them to disc. You know what they say about idle hands...
5. Say Thank You. This may seem a bit too simple, but
survey after survey has shown that this is the most effective
way to keep your staff happy. Let them know they've done a job
well done. These two little words will go a long long way.
